Fresh Meat Info Night
9 September
The Fresh Meat info night at The Wheatsheaf welcomed a whole heap of future rollergirls and refs to the community. Fresh meat training starts October 12, and that’s just enough time for these new skaters to get geared up. We look forward to seeing our freshies develop roller derby skills over the next few months… we’re excited about skating with them, and we can't wait for you to meet our new derby rollers next season!

Skate of Origin 2: VRDL v ADRD
22 August
She's a lady… woah woah woah, she's Adelady… and she came, smashed and skated, and took home one very sparkly, boot-shaped, Skate of Origin trophy. With both sides fired up enough to burn the track surface, the half time score is even, at 60 points. Further fierce skating in the second half sees another tied score full time, at 122 points. A tiebreaker jam almost stops the hearts of both skaters and supporters… only to end in yet another tied score at 131 points! A second overtime tiebreaker jam finally sees the Adeladies take out the bout, winning by two points with a final score of VRDL 134:136 ADRD.

Bout 6: Mile Die vs Road Train
2 August
The Mile Die Club catches an early flight and half time sees them ahead of the Road Train Rollers by 20 points. The Dies know that’s not a big enough gap for a sure win, and the Roadies know it too, and both teams come out firing in the second half. From there it’s tit-for-tat the whole way; neither side gives an inch and both teams score around the same number of points for the half. The Mile Dies retain the lead and claim both the bout and 2009 season victory at full time, with a final score of MDC79:RTR55.
